An FIR has been launched against the whole cast and crew member of 'Tandav' an Amazon Prime Originals series. The FIR was filed at Hazratganj police station, Lucknow.
The FIR stated, the series objectifies Hindu gods and goddesses in a repulsive manner, religious bias was also seemed to be hurt. It also highlighted the caste division and portray these things negatively. On Sunday, BJP MP Manoj Kotak sent a letter to the information and broadcasting minister urging a ban on 'Tandav'. The MP also stated that if the series would not remove, criminal action will be taken against them.
The series has been directed by Ali Abbas Zafar and written by Gaurav Solanki who also worked for 'Article15'. The cast includes Saif Ali Khan, Dimple Kapadia, Gauhar Khan, Sunil Grover, Anup Soni, Kritika Kamra, Dino Morea, Zeeshan Ayyub, and Sarah Jane Dias.
Saif Ali Khan escalated the role of a politician 'Samar Pratap Singh' who wants to become PM, though it took place after the unnatural death of his father which turned everything in his life. The most controversial scene to be recalled is when Zeeshan Ayyub who was dressed as Lord Shiva doing a stage drama and talks about how Lord Ram has become popular today.
The case has been filed under IPC section 153A, 295,505,469, and Information Technology Act.
