The collision of a bus and an auto-rickshaw results in the death of 13 people

According to the police, “The head-on collision took place in Purani Chhawani area of Gwalior,” where a bus and an auto-rickshaw collided, killing 13 people in Madhya Pradesh’s Gwalior district on March 23, Tuesday morning. Gwalior Additional SP Amit Sanghi reported that the accident happened around 7 am when these women who work as cooks in Anganwadi Kendra, were returning home after work and the bus was on its way to Morena.


It was further informed by the police that 10 passengers died on the spot that included nine women and the auto-rickshaw driver while the rest with severe injuries were rushed to a nearby hospital. CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan announces compensation to families of the deceased in his tweet


The Chief Minister paid his condolences to the deceased, “I am saddened by the untimely loss of precious lives in the deadly collision between bus and auto in Gwalior. I pray to God to grant the departed souls a place at his feet and their relatives to bear this tragedy. Om Shanti!”



He further added, “I and the people of the state are with bereaved families in this hour of grief. They should not consider themselves alone. The state government will give Rs four lakh to the families of each deceased and Rs 50,000 to those injured.”
