Two Girls Found Dead in Unnao: Cause Suspected To Be Poisoning

Uttar Pradesh: Two girls were found dead in a field in Unnao, UP on Wednesday evening. The UP Police Chief informed that the girls allegedly died due to poisoning. The girls had gone to collect fodder in the field. One of the three found was admitted to the hospital and is currently under ventilation. The eldest one is reportedly the aunt of the other two girls. They were aged between 13 and 16, the police said.

Superintendent of Police, Unnao, Anand Kulkarni stated that the girls were found in a corner tied with a dupatta on the field in an unconscious state. The Police saw froth ejecting from their mouths and suspected the cause to be poisoning. There were no signs of external injuries the police said. The complete forensic reports are yet awaited. The bodies have been preserved for chemical analysis.

CM of UP, Yogi Adityanath has ordered a serious investigation in the matter. He has also directed the officials to ensure proper treatment for the wounded girl. She has been admitted to Kanpur hospital with the aid of government expenses.

The opposition also demanded a rigorous inquiry in the case. Congress Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra claimed that UP is regressive to its female community as a whole. She talked about the state suppressing the Dalit strata and crushing the honor of humans.
