Uttarakhand announces COVID-19 vaccination for journalists, with no age restriction

The Uttarakhand chief minister, Tirath Singh Rawat, directed officials to focus on testing and treatment Of Coronavirus patients besides extending vaccinations facilities to rural areas. He declared journalists as frontline workers and representatives of media organizations, and announced free COVID-19 vaccination for all with no age restrictions, acknowledging their contribution to the fight against the pandemic. According to the statement issued by the chief minister, Tirath Singh Rawat has ordered to set up vaccination centers for the journalists in every district, in the state. He also stated that during the ongoing pandemic, it was no other than journalists, who provided the required information, kept us updated and, gave out correct information to the government. Journalist are the undervalued heroes of the coronavirus crisis and deserves our thanks and support. As per the Union Health Ministry, there are 2,404 active cases of COVID-19 in Uttarakhand while the death toll in the state stands at 1,721. The cumulative recoveries in the state reached 97,150.
