The Father of a 13-year-old gangrape victim died in a road accident today morning. The kins of the victim have alleged that the incident was carried out by the accused. Further, the locals have blocked the Kanpur-Sagar highway.
One of the family members said, "As soon as we filed the complaint, the elder brother of the main accused started threatening us. 'Beware my father is a sub-inspector,' he told us."
According to the information, on Tuesday, the Kanpur Police had filed a case of gangrape and criminal intimidation following a complaint lodged by the victim's father.
Superintendent of Police (rural) Brajesh Srivastava said, "a 13-year-old girl was allegedly gang-raped in Sajeti area in Kanpur on Tuesday. The girl, a class 8 student, was admitted to Community Health Centre (Ghatampur) from where she was referred to a private hospital in Kanpur. An FIR was registered against Deepu Yadav, his brother Saurabh Yadav and friend Golu Yadav in connection with the incident."
As per a report, Deepu and Saurabh are sons of a police sub-inspector.
Srivastava said, "the girl had gone out to collect fodder for cattle on Monday when she was abducted by the accused and taken to an unknown place where she was allegedly raped by Deepu and Golu."
The SP said, "Saurabh allegedly threatened the girl of dire consequences if she dared to speak to anyone about the incident."
The girl has somehow managed to reach her house in the morning and had told about the incident to family members who had lodged a complaint with the Sajeti Police Station. Five police teams headed by senior officials have been formed to nab the culprits.
