West Bengal activist allegedly raped while going to farmers' protest in Delhi, dies of Covid

A West Bengal-based woman who died with COVID-19 symptoms at a hospital in Haryana was allegedly gang-raped while she was going to support the farmers' protest at the Tikri border in Haryana. Source- ANI. The police said they have created a team comprising three inspectors who will be supervised by the DSP with the cyber cell, to track down those accused. They have registered a case into the matter against four people.

FIR As per the First Information Report filed by the father of the 25-year-old deceased, the activist came to Tikri from West Bengal on April 11 to join the farmers' protest against the farm laws.
Station In-charge's Statement:

She was admitted to a hospital in the Jhajjar district of Haryana with COVID-19 symptoms on April 26. "As per her father, she was raped. The victim was hospitalized for COVID-19 and succumbed to it on April 30. They have reported a case into the matter and an SIT has been formed," the city police station in-charge, Vijay Kumar said. Quoting the complaint, Kumar said the woman recounted the rape incident to her father on the phone. Further investigation is underway.
