Woman vendor of a tea stall in Muzaffarnagar, Bihar hurled boiling tea at the face of an assistant Sub-inspector (ASI) after
been asked to remove her encroaching stall. Suman Jha was the officer on-duty while executing the encroachment drive when the woman allegedly attacked him on December 20, 2020.
Dr Vikas Kumar, the principal of the SKMCH, filed a police complaint against the vendors who had stalls installed illegally in the premises of SKMCH causing problems to the hospital's authority and the patients.
When Jha went to clear out the stalls the woman and the cop got into a heated argument and this enraged the woman who then reacted by throwing boiling tea at the cop.
The victim's face got severely burn and was immediately rushed to the emergency ward at Sri Krishna Medical College and Hospital (SKMCH). The got arrested from the campus. The accused woman was identified as Sarita Devi, resident of Rasulpur Salim village.
On the same day, the victim was further shifted to the Patna Medical College and Hospital after his condition worsened. Sunil Razak, station house officer (SHO) of Ahiyapur police station confirmed that the accused has been arrested but her companions had decamped.
